Washdown Motors

Baldor offers a broad variety of stock washdown duty motors, including pump motors, brake motors, vector motors and agricultural food processing specialized motors, with superior performance and reliability. Contributing features to this superior engineering are Mobil Polyrex EM lubricant, an improved paint system and inverter voltage spike resistant insulation system, Class F insulation with Class B or lower temperature rise, and shaft seals engineered to withstand high-pressure spray.

Working with leaders in food and pharmaceutical industries, Toshiba developed the Toshwash SS, a durable and reliable washdown duty, stock motor brand. With an innovative design that keeps contaminants out of the stainless steel motor, the life cycle of the Toshwash SS is up to five times the normal life cycle of other commercial washdown motors. Toshiba also offers a broad variety of TENV (totally enclosed, non-ventilated) frame sizes available for washdown applications.

For extreme cleanliness and applications requiring frequent washdowns, WEG offers the Shark all-stainless steel motor. Nothing stands up to high pressure sprays and corrosive environments as well as stainless steel, the most desirable material for washdown duty motor frames and other exterior motor surfaces. The entire Shark motor line is certified Inverter Rated for use with a VFD, and able to tolerate inverter voltage spikes. This rating meets or exceeds NEMA specification MG1 Part 31. The Shark series of stainless steel products also includes CFW-09 stainless steel drive control.
