Power Transmission Jaw Couplings
Mechanical power transmission jaw couplings connect driving and driven equipment with rigid jaw hubs which may have flexibility dampened with a flexible component called a spider. In a coupling with an elastomeric spider, the conventional rigidity of the metallic jaw coupling is replaced with a spider having some elasticity and may also carry tubular sleeves or coil springs supported by spider pins. These flexible elements may compress radially and torsionally to allow a specified level of equipment damping and tolerance to misalignment. Applications include wood chippers, mud pumps, conveyors, compressors, generators, fans, pumps, washers and dryers. Let BK Industrial Solutions experienced personnel assist you with your equipment’s coupling specifications.

Martin Stock Jaw Couplings
Power Transmission Jaw Couplings
Martin Super jaw couplings and Martin Universal jaw couplings allow selection of complete industry interchangeability or higher horsepower for medium-duty applications. The load-carrying Buna-N spider is easily inspected, and it prevents all metal-to-metal contact in the coupling. The flexibility of Buna-N material allows the coupling to tolerate specified parallel misalignment of shafts. No maintenance lubrication is required, and installation is easily accomplished with set screws.
