ABB Baldor’s high durability crusher duty motor is an example of a severe duty motor, used in environments where the induction motor requires extra protection from the elements. The Baldor crusher motor has high starting torque, 460-volt supply power, rigid base and TEFC (totally enclosed fan cooled) design. Horsepower ranges from 5 hp to 350 hp, and available speeds are 1200 rpm or 1800 rpm. Baldor’s Crusher Duty motor line is engineered for the demanding high torque applications and harsh environments of the mining, aggregate, and cement industries.

WEG Crusher Duty W22 motors are designed to meet the rock crushing industry’s demanding requirements. These machines are engineered with FC-200 grade cast iron, which is superior for heat dissipation and strength. The shafts are made from 4140 high-strength steel which further contributes to their high durability ratings. These motors are also designed for vertical or horizontal mounting and can withstand exceptional high starting and breakdown torque.  They offer an increased internal space in the connection area which makes connections more accessible to the installer. The terminal box can be mounted on the top, left or right side of the motor while utilizing the same frame on the 445/7T and larger motors.

Toshiba’s definite purpose XT, TEFC (totally enclosed fan cooled), high efficiency, Quarry Duty motor series (crusher duty motors) have a track record of exceeding the extreme demands of the cement and aggregate industries, with a totally enclosed design and exceptional high torque tolerance, oversized roller bearings, and high strength 4142 steel shafts. The roller bearings on the motor’s drive-end allow for heavy radial loads often associated with belt-driven applications. The Quarry Duty motor series is designed for horizontal or vertical installation, exceeding NEMA MG1 Part 31 requirements and capable of outdoor and indoor installation.
